StatSheet's Big Ten Player of the Week for January 7th goes to Ohio State's Deshaun Thomas. Michigan's Glenn Robinson III has won StatSheet's Big Ten Freshman of the Week. And last but not least, Illinois's Joseph Bertrand takes home StatSheet's Big Ten 6th Man of the Week.

Thomas finished first in the Big Ten in scoring (23.0 pts per game). He also put up huge numbers in both shooting (50%) and rebounding (6 per game). The Ohio State junior played well in a victory versus Nebraska and a loss to Illinois.

Thomas led scoring and rebounding for the Buckeyes with 22 points and 8 rebounds in a big 70-44 win against Nebraska. He followed that up by leading the team in scoring with 24 points on 42% shooting in a 74-55 loss to Illinois.

This is the second time this season that Deshaun Thomas has been selected StatSheet Big Ten Player of the Week. The runner-up this week is Cody Zeller, a sophomore from Indiana. Honorable mention goes to Purdue junior Terone Johnson.

StatSheet Big Ten Freshman of the Week: Michigan's Glenn Robinson III

Glenn Robinson III was on the floor an average of 30 minutes as a starter for Michigan. His average in free throws (2.5 per game) was the best among all Big Ten freshmen. In a 94-66 waxing of Northwestern, Robinson III registered 5 rebounds and 100% shooting. Against Iowa, in a massive 95-67 win, he led all scoring with 20 points and also put up 10 rebounds.

Glenn Robinson III has won the StatSheet Big Ten Freshman of the Week an astounding 3 times. Mitch McGary from Michigan grabs runner-up. Honorable mention goes to Kevin Ferrell from Indiana. The highest ranking freshman from Nebraska was Shavon Shields who finished 12th.

StatSheet Big Ten 6th Man of the Week: Illinois's Joseph Bertrand

Junior Joseph Bertrand, a 6-5 reserve guard, averaged 26 minutes over two games for the Fighting Illini. In a 68-61 loss to Purdue, Bertrand put up 14 points and 7 rebounds. Then in a 74-55 stunner against Ohio State, he racked up 3 blocked shots and 55% shooting.

This is the first time this season that Joseph Bertrand has won the StatSheet Big Ten 6th Man of the Week. Will Sheehey, a junior forward from Indiana, is runner up. Oto Osenieks, a sophomore forward from Minnesota, earns honorable mention. Nebraska has yet to win StatSheet Big Ten Player of the Week.
